No fewer than 43 years have passed since STAHLNETZ's first and, in the 1980s, only live concert. The band considered itself a studio project. 2024 was the year of their comeback.
Their first album was produced in 1981/82 by the legendary producer Conny Plank (Kraftwerk, Can, Ultravox, Eurythmics, DAF, and many more). The anti-war anthem "Vor all den Jahren“ reached the top 20 of the German singles charts, experienced a renaissance in clubs, and is still heard today. On the NDW page "Vor all den Jahren“ was voted the third best Neue Deutsche Welle song of all time, after Grauzone’s “Eisbär“ and  Joachim Witt’s "Goldener Reiter".
